Week 14 Diary of Faces
This week we visit Ireland and the paintings of Roderic O'Conor (1860-1940). O'Conor painted a series of portraits of women who came to his rue du Cherche-Midi studio in the Montparnasse quartier of Brittany. It is theorized that this particular portrait may have been practice for his 'Portrait of a Seated Woman' or 'Le Corsage Bleu.' He was an admirer of Modigliani's work whose influence you can see in his painting.
Here is my version.
