Celebrating Day of the Dead with Daniella Woolf in Oaxaca, Mexico

For many in Mexico, the celebration Dia de los Muertos is a time to honor those who have passed on. Ofrendas or altars are created with special foods, drinks, and items that held special meaning for the departed. Special marigolds are strewn in a path leading to the altar to guide the spirit of the departed. These collections of objects are built in the home and others are created in the cemetery on top of graves.

Daniella Woolf is going to expand upon this tradition in her Day of the Dead workshop in Oaxaca , Mexico, a city already known for its rich art and culinary traditions next October.

We will also experience some of the traditions of this celebration, visiting a cemetery, building our own ofrendas and eating some of the special foods, including pan de Muertos.
