Books of Images and Wax with Bridgette Guerzon Mills
This past week I spent three days playing with wax, plaster, oil paints and ephemera with the delightful Bridgette Guerzon Mills and 8 other artists at the Pacific Northwest Art School in Coupeville building books of images using plaster and encaustics. We were aided by a wonderful local artist, Stephanie Schuemann, whose oil paintings are amazing.
The range of experience in the room went from me, the newbie, to an art teacher, and Leslie who has been using encaustics for over 20 years.
Luckily for me, Leslie and Deborah, also an experienced artist and great photographer, shared my table.

Day one we made covers for one book and plaster pages for another. I made covers for an additional book and two more plaster books (yes, Andrea Matus deMeng, I can hear you laughing).
Below is one of the plaster page books.
